Cretan World Music Festival 2024 – 10th, 11th and 12th July – preview
A first glimpse on the upcoming Cretan World Music Festival 2024!
The three-day festival will be held in three different parts of the prefecture of Chania:
10th July: at the picturesque stone theatre in Nopigeia
11th July: in Alikianos, at the beautiful Kapsomenos Foundation
12th July: in Aptera, at the Ancient Aptera Aloni theatre
Exhibition of paintings and photography by local and foreign artists:
10th July, 19.00 – 21.00 at the Stone Theatre in Nopigia
11th July, 10.00 – 14.00 and 18.00 -21.00
Free entry
This year there will be a tribute to two excellent local bands from Anogeia, with two renowned artists, Psarogiorgis and Ludovikos of Anogia.
Furthermore, a tribute to the Armenian singer and oudist Haig Yazdjian.
Three excellent musical groups will present jazz music with the jazz band of Yiannis Paterakis, music from around Greece with TETRAHXO (Marcos Renieris (violin), Maria Manousaki (violin), Michalis Loufardakis (violin) and Kyriakos Stavrianoudakis (lute) )
and IDIFONIS, an orchestra of traditional instruments presenting Eastern music.
The Cretan Music Festival was founded in 2014 by Maria Manousaki and is now celebrating its 10th year, presenting the International Music Festival of Crete, dedicated to world music.
