Fires break out in Kissamos – 30th May 2016
Several fires have broken out in the hills in the Lardas area of Kissamos – according to reports they began at approximately 1pm, and are still burning over 3 hours later, with up to 7 fire engines in attendance.
The flames appear to be burning away from the residential areas towards Olive trees and forest land.

I drove to Platanos around 2pm and could see the fire on the hills just East of the main road. It looked like a wide front, but the almost complete lack of wind should help contain it.
