Balos Clean-up, Sun 29th May 2016 – UPDATE

The Kissamos Beach cleaners are tackling Balos, and we need YOUR help!
Let’s get Balos beach back to a state where we can be proud of it!

We are arranging transportation by boat with the support of Kissamos Municipality and Cretan Daily Cruises. Balos cleaners will be taken free of charge to the beach.

If you can come and help, please get in touch with us for more details, meeting points & times etc. Many hands make light work!

UPDATE

The response has exceeded expectations, and we have more requests to participate than agreed tickets! We’ll be in touch with the boat company about extending the availability of tickets so all cleaners can be taken for free, but this is to be confirmed. In any case, we need to give a list of names by Friday morning, so get in touch by Thursday night if you’re interested.

Meeting point: Kissamos port, just after Kissamos town if you’re coming from Chania direction, signposted on the right.

Meeting time: 10:00 am (to be confirmed)

Return time: 6:00 pm

Weather forecast: hot and dry, light breeze

Bags and single-use gloves will be supplied. There is no cafe on the beach, you need to take food and water with you.

Take with you:

• plenty of water
• food
• hat and sunglasses
• suncream
• clothing for wading in the water
