Chestnut Festival Elos – Limni – Vlatos – Myloi
The Municipality of Kissamos invites you to this year’s Chestnut Festival 2026, which will take place from Friday, 23rd October to Sunday, 25th October, in the Municipal Unit of Inachori.
The three-day event includes informative evening sessions on companion animals and the chestnut gall wasp, a presentation of the Municipality’s tourism campaign, and a rich musical program featuring a *laiko* (popular Greek music) evening, a live *entechno*-rock performance, and a photography exhibition. The main event this year will be held on
Sunday, October 25th (at 12:00 PM) in Myloi Square, featuring a traditional Cretan celebration and dance troupes.
Additionally, an open-air exhibition of local products will be on display.

FRIDAY, 23rd October – FORMER PRIMARY SCHOOL OF LIMNI
18:30 | Informative Evening Session: “Everything you need to know about the provisions of Law 4830/2021 regarding owned companion animals.”
An essential discussion covering free microchipping, spaying/neutering, and support available for vulnerable social groups and livestock farmers.
21:00 “Laiki” Night (Greek Folk/Popular Music), with Valentinos Martselakis!
A photography exhibition will also be on display at the venue.
SATURDAY 24th OCTOBER 24, 19:00 at the VLATOS PARISH CENTER

CENTRAL EVENT OF THE CHESTNUT FESTIVAL
The main event this year takes places at the Plateia Mylos (Πλατεία των Μύλων), located in the mountain hamlet of Myli, approximately 1.5 kilometers (a 2-minute drive) north of Elos village.
Look for the official municipality signs for the Chestnut Festival (Γιορτή Κάστανου) and traffic coordinators directing vehicles to the designated parking areas.
