The performance
The great success of London “4 minutes 12 seconds” by James Fritz, which won the 2nd “Verity Bargate” award in the competition for the best new English play, is presented by the Municipal Theatre of Crete, in a performance of strong emotions.
In a world where cameras and smartphones are omnipresent, the
author focuses on a provocative and topical issue, shedding light on the insidious opportunities offered by new technology: nothing dies online, except dignity!
Four actors create a fast-paced, suspenseful, humorous and full of twists and turns for the audience!

Plot
Diana and David have dedicated their lives to giving their teenage son, Jack, the opportunity they never had, to get the necessary
grades to study Law at University. But an unexpected event
right outside of school threatens to ruin everything, as their son
finds himself beaten by his girlfriend’s brother… As the story progresses, the parents begin to doubt Jack’s best friends, their son and finally themselves, until they learn that an
amateur video of Jack, 4 minutes and 12 seconds long, has been uploaded to YouTube puts his participation in the exams at risk. Who can they trust? Should they call the police or handle it themselves? The video already has 500,000 views!

Lydia

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
