Concert: Spring concert (Candius Firmus and Con Brio) – Chania 13th April

The vocal ensemble Candius Firmus collaborates with the flute ensemble Con brio .

The concert will take place on Palm Sunday, April 13, at 20.00 at the Catholic Church, 6 Halidon, Chania.
Free admission.

The program includes church works from the early Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic periods as well as contemporary works.
Among others, works by Bach, Schubert, Brahms, Elgar will be heard.

Solo singing by Erofili Apostolaki.
The Con Brio woodwind ensemble conducted by Anna Malekaki.
Church organ: Afroditi Mitsotaki.

‘Candius Firmus’:
In music ‘cantus firmus’ is the terminology for a melody on which a polyphonic composition was based during the Renaissance.
The name Candius Firmus refers to the words Candia (old name of Chania) and cantus.
