Katerina Sklaveniti and Mark Tristram , 2nd and 3rd prize-winners “Beyond the Veil of Reality” art contest (May 2023) will be with us for a week, sharing their art.

In this context Katerina Sklaveniti, daughter of the well-known sculptor and ceramist Christoforos Sklavenitis will present her exceptionally sophisticated artworks.

The artist’s style presents a soft but often geometric composition; extremely intricate line work with detailed motifs containing symbols or images, often portrayed from nature, that blending together into extraordinary coloured abstractions creating  unique optical effects.

Mark Tristram , on the other hand, a serendipitous discovery, in his second presence in the gallery, will present his paintings inspired by the surroundings, where he has lived or visited ,or that have catched his eye at a certain moment. Outstanding artist with great skills, for the realisation of his works, he uses different mediums; acrylic, watercolour and also oil through which, with skilful technique, he manages to recreate the nuances, shadows and light that everyday reality gives us.

During the week the artists will be available to interact with visitors sharing their artistic emotions.

Lydia

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
