Lighting of Christmas Tree – Chania 9th December

This year the Christmas tree will be set up at the square behind the Giali Tsamisi Mosque (Hasan Pascha Mosque):

Friday, 9th December  at 19:30 

“As a municipality, we have decided not to burden energy costs more and to emphasize cultural activities,” said the Deputy Mayor of Finance, Mr. Aloglou, noting that energy costs have risen in 2022 by 2 million euros.

Regarding the Christmas decorations, the Deputy Mayor Mr. G. Nikiforakis said that 14 trees will be set up mainly in the peri-urban areas, while the municipality’s tree will be placed at the Venetian Harbour this year.

Mrs. Giannakakis, president of KEPPEDICH- KAM said that in the peri-urban areas there will be theatrical performances and roller coaster rides, while the Santa Claus workshop will operate in the Grand Arsenal (Mediterranean Centre of Architecture – CAM).
