‘FRATRES’: recital violoncello and piano – Chania 24th July

The duo of  Dulguun Chinchuluun (pianist) from Mongolia and cellist Michael Heupel from Greece is a moving example of the power of music to bring people together.

WHEN: 24th July 20.00
WHERE: Firka Fortress, Chania (map)
Entrance: free

On the occasion of the work “Fratres” by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt the two acclaimed musicians combine works from all over the world to create a special concert.

Songs about nature from Finland converse with those of Manos  Hadjidakis from “Megalos Erotikos”, the passion of Argentine tango  and the overwhelming mood of Pärt’s spiritual works and Gabriel Fauré’s “Elegy”.
Music brings people together, regardless of where they come from.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
