“Stories about Travellers”
The need to revisit principles of form and immediate communication lies at the heart of Christel’s
paintings. The flat expanses of color, and centered shapes express the lively and delicate temperament of the artist. Forms seem anxious to instill a sense of movement and speed that
characterizes the flow of events experienced.
The essential representations, in tone and content, are never random: explicitly composed with the intention of communicating a sense of presence, place and belonging. Christel aims at capturing the impact of her emotions through unlimited communication and shared experience.
