Kallergi Mountain Refuge open this weekend – Omalos 19th/20th March
The Kallergi Mountain Refuge (Lefka Ori – White Mountains)) will be open this weekend 19th – 20th March.

The Kallergi mountain Refuge was built in 1971 by the Greek Mountaineering Club of Chania and ever since it hosts hikers and climbers from all around the world that want to experience the majestic Lefka Ori massif . The refuge is located on the west side of the mountain range at the altitude of 1680 meters , 600 meters higher than the Omalos plateau. It is the only staffed refuge of Western Crete . The refuge is currently accessible only on foot .
The hike up takes about 1 hour and forty minutes (depending on the snow conditions).

Covid-19 protocols
According to the instructions of the Greek Government and the Greek Mountaineering Association all guests must have a vaccination certificate (green pass).
