Retzekas trail run, Plokamiana Kissamos

The “Retzakas Trail Run & Hike” is the first event with an off-road running race and includes an 8 km route consisting of dirt rural roads, paths and asphalt along which you can discover the “Retzakas” waterfall, enjoy the views and admire the rich flora of the Municipality of Inachori.

The event will take place on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 10:30a.m. in the semi-mountainous area of ​​Plokamiana, Vathi, Tzitzifia (Municipality of Inachori, Municipality of Kissamos, 10 km before Lafonisi).

This event is organised by the Municipality of Chania, the Municipality of Kissamos, the Educational Cultural Sports Association of Plokamiana, the running team of Lafonisi – Inachoria and the Team of Sports Runners of Kissamos,

The purpose of this event is to promote and share the sporting spirit, to highlight the natural beauty of the place and also to raise awareness of topical issues of the environment and the issues of freedom of the mountains. For this reason, the Retzakas Trail Run & Hike 2022 is open to participation not only by athletes, trail and road runners but also to walkers and nature lovers. All those who want to complete the route by running, dynamic walking or even more relaxed hiking will be able to take part.

Registration is open electronically.

The competitive trail run will start at 10:30am, and is open to men and women over 18 years old. Participation cost is €12.

The non-competitive hike will start at 10:45am, following the same route. This is open to all, adults and children. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult, children 15-17 can participate alone with a declaration of responsibility from a parent. Participation cost is €10/

The start/finish point for both routes will be the old Primary School of Plokamiana of the Municipality of Inachori of the Municipality of Kissamos, Chania (See here: )

The payment of the participation fee can be made either electronically (there will be information by e-mail to all participants 10 days before the race, or on the spot on the day of the race). For those who wish to travel by bus, there will be a special bus service for the event CHANIA-KISAMOS-PLOKAMIANA, which will cost €5 for a return ticket.
