Oglinda,”The Mirror in Romanian” is one of the latest projects of Iker Spozio. The aim of the artist, through a series of portraits of his partner, is to mirror the person he shares his life with and, in the process, himself in this peculiar time of reclusion and minimal social interaction, due to the recent pandemy.

Iker Spozio was born in Italy and currently living in Spain, after a degree in Modern Art History and studies in Archaeology in Milan’s Statale University,
He started working as an illustrator, mainly in the music and publishing fields, before switching to painting.

His previous works featured abstract, geometric compositions  with ancient and traditional techniques and have been shown worldwide (Seoul, Moscow, Tokyo, London, Bilbao, Rome) and after his project “Romanesque” in collaboration with the Catalan Museum of Art, he returned to a figurative style while always maintaining some geometric figures.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
