Free self test scheme continues through summer

The free self-test scheme will be continued during the summer for those working in tourism and catering and for the younger age group, according to statements by the Secretary General of the Government, Thanassis Kontogeorgis.

Mr Kontogeorgis said that other distribution channels, such as making self tests available from supermarkets, is under consideration. He pointed out that if the number of active cases continues to fall, and in discussion with the various relevant committees, from July self-tests will not be necessary for the vaccinated.

Ask at your pharmacy whether you are eligible for the free self tests. You need an AMKA number, as the eligibility is assessed from the central system. Self tests costs about €6 from pharmacies.
