“Pilot” easing of restrictions ahead of tourist season
Announced today – Monday 19th April 2021 – visitors from the EU, the Schengen area, the UK, the USA, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Serbia and Israel, will be allowed to enter Greece without a mandatory quarantine period.
The quarantine lifting applies only to travellers who can provide documents showing that they have completed their Covid-19 vaccination, or they have proof of a negative PCR test, carried out 72 hours before arriving in Greece.
Passengers will still need to complete a PLF (passenger location form) and there will also be random Covid testing on arrivals.
This scheme is being explained as a “pilot” program, ahead of the Greek Government’s planned reopening for tourism on May 14th.
Additionally, a government decision is expected in the coming days as to whether inter-regional travel will be allowed for Greeks & Greek residents during the Easter holidays.
