Temporary AMKA numbers for uninsured / foreign nationals for COVID vaccinations

A new law is expected to be confirmed on Thursday that will allow foreign nationals and uninsured individuals living in Greece to obtain a temporary social security identification number (AMKA) for the purpose of receiving the COVID vaccination.

The temporary AMKA number will also apply to individuals who are in the system but have been unable to register for the vaccination program due to technical issues.

The application for for a temporary AMKA number will be available on the government’s emvolio.gov.gr vaccination platform, although it is not clear when this measure will be available. KEP offices should be able to help with issuance of temporary AMKA numbers as well.
