Kayak Excursion: The West Coast

Explore the West coast of Crete with a different viewpoint. Discover remote beaches, navigate through shallow rocks, admire the rugged landscape, jump in to relax with a snorkel.

An adventure on the edge between the elements, where sky, sea and land all meet.

Transportation
We set off from Kissamos and drive on scenic coastal roads for half an hour. We get to a pebbly beach where we leave land and launch for our adventure.

The Kayak
We paddle along the rocky coastline. We round a cape to discover remote beaches. Then we navigate through shallow rocks, all while admiring the rugged landscape.

The sea
We take advantage of the sit-on-tops and jump in the blue element. We don our masks and snorkels and we enter by the steep drops under the cliffs, or we can find a shallow spot with turquoise water among the maze of rocks. Or we can explore the seagrass meadows by the shore.

The landing
We spot the next shiny-shingled-shore and land, we get dry and we share a snack on the beach, before we drive back.
