“We stay at home” cinema “The Flea” – Sunday 5th April

A wonderful Greek film (English subtitles) for all ages, not only for young people, but for the latter activities are available as well.

Sunday 5th April 9 am EET and again at 4 pm EET, but another source says 11 am and 6 pmTHE FLEA

Olympia Festivals  will be streaming the classic Greek film “The Flea” (1990), directed back then by  Dimitris Spyrou. The streaming copy will be subtitled in English, so all international friends are invited to join  (at 9 AM EET and again at 4 PM EET)

“Flea” is the name of a handwritten newspaper published and edited by a 12-year-old student, Ilias Silaidis, in an isolated mountain village in Olympia. However, The Flea is also Ilias himself. Since he is so closely identified with his newspaper no one calls him by his name any more. The film won international awards (among them the CIFEJ Award at the Berlinale) and was the official Greek proposal for the Felix Best Young Film Award. The streaming copy will be subtitled in English, so we invite all our international friend to join us (at 9 AM EET and again at 4 PM EET)

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
