Art exhibition “Countryside and the Farmer’s Market – Chania 25th September – 10th October

The paintings of Maro Gypaki depict the impressions of light, movement and colour in rural landscapes and the open spaces of the farmer’s market.

About the artist:

Maro Gypaki was born in Chania. She graduated the School of Pharmacy of the University of Athens. Her instructors in painting were Spiros Koursaris, Tassos Rigas and Chronis Botsoglou. She has presented her artwork in 5 solo exhibitions in Greece. She has also participated in group exhibitions in Greece and Belgium. She lives and works in Athens and Chania.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
