Music festival: “A Summer of Music” – Chania 9th & 23rd September

Synonymous with quality and avant-garde, the hotel Porto Venetiano started a series of thematic events entitled “Music and Words”  in summer  2017, materializing the inspiration of the poet and writer Leonidas Kakaroglou. The warm welcome that the audience enjoyed at this  Summer Festival encouraged them to continue this year, aiming at promoting the rich musical tradition of Greece, and also highlighting a sophisticated type of entertainment .

PROGRAMME

 Monday 9 September: Tribute to Kostas Palamas. A poetry full of rich poems and narratives. Participants: Magda Pensou, Andreas Anagnostopoulos, Themis Rodamitis
 Monday 23rd September:
Sounds of varied places around the globe. A musical narrative with masterpieces from around the world creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Participating artists: Kostas Thomidis, Bella Lionaki, Dimitris Drumoboyannis.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And seven years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
