A visiting Swedish children’s choir will perform 2 free concerts, one in Kissamos & one in Chania, together with local children’s choirs from the area.
They will sing a mixed program, some Swedish folk songs, summer songs, sacral music and also some songs together with the local children’s choirs.
Thursday 30th May, concert 19.30 (7.30 pm) in Tsatsaronakio Polykentro, Kisamos. Free admittance.
Friday 31st May, concert 20.30 (8.30 pm) in the Catholic Church in Chania. Free admittance.
The Swedish choir of St. Katarina is under the direction of Emelie Power while the children’s department of the Choir of Chania is under the direction of Nikos Perakis and Georgios Kaloutsis. The program will include ecclesiastical and secular music. The choir of St. Katarina was founded in 1969 by Lars-Ewe Nilsson in the church of St. Katarina in Stockholm, Sweden, and in 2019 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its foundation. It consists of 10-16 year old girls who play concerts both in churches and in large halls in Stockholm.
