Fairy Tales “East of the Sun and West of the Moon” – Chania 2nd and 3rd January

A visualized narrative story based on the Norwegian folk tale of the same title – a journey through the enchanting world of fairy tales.
WHEN: 2nd and 3rd January, 18.00 and 20.00
Fairy Tales: Centre for Mediterranean Architecture CAM, Venetian Harbour, Chania

“East of the Sun and West of the Moon” comes from the great collection of Norwegian fairy tales (1844) by Peter Christen Asbjornsen and Jorgen Moe, two young people, who were so impressed by the work of the Grimm brothers that they began to gather popular myths from the villagers in their area.

A daring girl, a prince who has never seen his human form, three ladies with strange gifts, the four winds of the earth … a journey so distant that it’s like traveling to the end of the world.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
