MET OPERA (recorded) “Eugene Onegin” by Peter Tchaikovsky Chania 10th July
“Eugene Onegin” of the Great Russian romantic-era composer Pytotr I. Tchaikovsky is a tale of burning passions, unreturned love and regret. Perhaps one of the best examples of the lyric opera style that places emphasis on melody with a romance theme.
Tchaikovsky’s fateful romance is presented on the Met stage in Deborah Warner’s moving production, starring Anna Netrebko as a magnificent Tatiana and Mariusz Kwiecien and Peter Mattei sharing the title role.
