Upcoming event: August 2016 Rokka Full Moon concert

The full moon concert, held in the fantastic natural environment of Rokka, will be host to the THESSALONIKI STATE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA this year.

The event is provisionally planned for 18th August, so pencil that date into your diary and watch this space.

A little information about the area:

Rokka village is located 15.5 km from Kissamos, and 35km from Chania. On the hill which dominates the village, there are ruins of a Byzantine castle, with residues from tanks and buildings. The Venetian name of the castle is «Rocca», and therefore the whole village called today Rokka.

The concert takes place on the hillside to the west of the village, above the start of the 2km Rokka – Deliana gorge.  The concert takes place outdoors, under the stars, full moon and (usually) warm August breeze. As a location for a concert, this is truly stunning.
