Short film “SETBACK” – Chania 17th October (Underground Ottoman Fountain -Υπόγεια Κρήνη) 

It is with great pleasure that the artistic performance group “Between Light and Shadow” (Ανάμεσα στοΦως και τη Σκιά) will present the short film SetBack at the Underground Fountain in Splantzia Square, Chania.

The screening of the award-winning short film SetBack takes place on Saturday, 17th October, at the historic Splantzia Square (1821 Square), 18.00 – 22.00, in a loop.

The event will be held inside the Underground Ottoman Fountain (Υπόγεια Κρήνη), which is located directly at the square itself, right in front of the Church Agios Nikolaos.

• The entrance: The entrance to this 18th-century underground structure is right on the open square, enclosed by protective iron railings. 
• Getting inside: To experience the screening, you will walk down a flight of 27 stone steps leading into the beautifully restored subterranean chambers.  
• Event hours: The film will be screened on a loop from 18:00 to 22:00 at the Underground Fountain, where the  “Between Light and Shadow”  team will also be present to discuss these circles—and all the other shapes.
• Admission:  free.

Filming took place on the merchant vessel BEATA, at the Chania Correctional Facility, at the THEATRE 73100 drama school, in the village of Zymbragou, and on Mount Psiloritis.

This creation—through its music—speaks to all those times we failed to open our mouths to voice a desire, a decision, or a thought. It captures our choice to “cook” and serve onto empty plates—accompanied by silent smiles—and to declare our presence on colored, yet unpainted, sheets of paper. It took a long time for us to realize that there is great beauty in leaving one’s own circle—without closing it—and allowing it to continue its journey, transformed into other shapes: angles, straight lines, and curves.

SetBack won the third Audience Award at the LIFT-OFF FILMMAKER SESSIONS  in the UK. Furthermore, out of 135 competing films at the 2nd International KISFFO Festival, it was selected as one of the 11 finalists.
