In today’s age of contradictions and rapid developments, questions arise about Local Development and the Value Crisis. At the same time, terms such as Culture, Community, Development, Sustainable Tourism, Intangible Cultural Heritage, etc. are being redefined. Local institutions, associations, local businesses and ordinary residents of the island have the right and also the obligation to know our Culture, the intangible and material products of our Cultural Heritage, the way to rescue, promote and spread them, as well as modern methods and practices of healthy, multilevel and long-term Development.
The Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAK) organizes a series of discussions, on the theme “Cretan Culture in… “A crisis?” and also makes an open call to Cultural Associations and every Body promoting the Culture of our country, as well as to any individual interested in being informed.
The 3rd meeting was scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00, where
Two young artists with visions and important studies will participate in this meeting:
Maria Manousaki, renowned musician, composer and artistic director of the Vlatos Jazz Festival and Marios Ioannidis, illustrator – animator, with postgraduate studies in Digital Studies Cultural Product and Artistic Director of Chaniartoon Festival.
The goal is the new actions of Cultural Associations and the importance of teamwork, volunteerism and artistic creativity.
