Katerina Orfanoudakis will present a concert of works for solo harpsichord.

Influenced by baroque music as well as traditional and contemporary music, she will present a diverse program, trying to bridge these different genres through the harpsichord and its musical capabilities.

Starting with 17th and 18th century repertoire, with composers such as G. Frescobaldi, W. Byrd and J.S. Bach, and ending with music by the 20th century Greek composer I. Xenakis.

A key part of the program will be the much-arranged melody “la Monica”, where it will be played through solo works for plecophoros of the Baroque period, and will be connected with arrangements of traditional melodies and compositions by Katerina.
She will be joined by Niki Kokkoli on the saxophone.

The event is co-organized by the Municipality of Chania.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
