Getting to know our area – next hike in Fournes (Botanical Park) – 21st April

The Municipality of Platanias continues the hikes within the framework of the activities “We walk and get to know our area”, and organises the 6th hike:
WHEN: Sunday, April 21st at 5:00 pm.
WHERE: at the Botanical Park and Gardens, Fournes.
Free entrance for the walkers.

The participants will enjoy a free guided tour by the park owners, and will get to know the park’s unique biodiversity. Nearly 20 hectares of land are waiting to welcome you, full of fruit trees from all over the world, herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants in a park different from others, where the land’s formation and the region’s microclimate make it a paradise for hundreds of plants and animals!

On the walking tour you will be accompanied, as always, by the local section of the Kissamos Red Cross.
This will be the last walk before Easter. The hiking activities will be continued after Easter.

I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike.
