Exhibition: “Close your eyes to see” – Chania until 21st February
For ten days, the Chania Cultural Center becomes a “Radio Museum”, on the occasion of World Radio Day, which is celebrated every year on February 13.
At this exhibition more than 70 radios and audio devices, transmitters and receivers are on display for the first time, in the foyer of the Cultural Center Chania.
Radios that all have a story to tell. Devices from the interwar period, the Occupation and the years of the reconstruction and flourishing of the country, but also of Greek radio broadcasting, which come from the collections of: Nikos Lambrakis, Nikos Havredakis, Dimitris Rainakis, Artemis Proimakis and Polyvios Uroutzoglou.

The exhibition is held with the co-organization of the Region of Crete – Chania Regional Unit and the Spiritual Center of Chania.
Opening of the exhibition: Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 19.00. Official guest, the first announcer of ERA Chania, Kate Alexis.

*The title of the exhibition is borrowed from the documentary with the same title by Stavros Stratigakos on the History of Radio in Greece, on the occasion of the 70 years of Hellenic Radio.
