Concert of the woodwind ensemble Con Brio – Chania 30th September

The woodwind ensemble Con Brio is performing in the former Catholic Monastery of St. Francis.

WHERE: in the Franciscan Monastery of St. Francis (old Archaeological Museum), Halidon Street 28, Chania.
The Catholic Church of Saint Francis (also known as the Monastery of Agios Fragkiskos) is one of the oldest and most impressive Venetian-style buildings in the Old Town of Chania, on Halidon Street. It housed the Archaeological Museum of Chania until 2020.

The Con Brio woodwind ensemble was founded in 2005 and is the only recorded woodwind ensemble in Greece. It counts more than 15 members, who own the basic instruments of the family and perform in various combinations from quartet to chamber ensemble.

The program includes a cosmic journey of great composers such as J.S. Bach, Ant. Vivaldi, G.Ph. Telemann, H. Purcell and others of the Renaissance and Baroque era, ending with J. Strauss and T. Papathanasiou.
