Three centuries of music for cello and piano:
The two distinguished musicians, cellist Michalis Heupel and pianist Dora Manitaki, collaborate to present 4 important sonatas from the repertoire of the two instruments from the last 3 centuries.
Starting from the Baroque with a much-played transcription of Willem de Fesch’s sonata in D minor and ending with Sergei Prokofiev’s sonata, a masterpiece of 20th century music. The central work is also the sonata no. 3 by Ludwig van Beethoven which is considered the first work in which the two instruments interact as equals. The program is completed by Alexander Tcherepnin’s sonata, which bears all the elements of the peculiar personality of its cosmopolitan composer.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
