“ABBA the musical” (byTonia Katzourou- Giorgos Kaloutsis)
Anna, a student with great musical talent, wins a scholarship to one of the greatest music academies in Europe. There she will live away from her family for the first time and will meet new friends from different countries, as well as a great  love! Tensions and antagonisms will be created, as well as small groups that will be the prelude to a great global career for the pop group they will form.

It could be Abba, although there is no word on that.

But, in a musical, anything can happen!

A few words about the music (by Nikos Perakis)

“After the great success we had with Love me do and with Beatles songs I thought we should try a similar project with Abba music. The success of Mama Mia had brought this band of the 70s to the fore, so the children accepted it with great enthusiasm.

I turned to my versatile teacher Giorgos Kaloutsis who, with the help of Tonia Katzourou, created a simple libretto that perfectly embraced the music.

In the arrangement of the songs I tried to keep the style of ABBA intact by giving several solos, duets to our talented children who harmoniously tied with the choral form.

Several of these songs can stand “comfortably” without the backing of instrumental music (a capella). In fact, together with the soloists, they reach up to 8 different voices (Honey honeyTake a chance on me).

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
