OPEN HOUSE Chania pop-up event: free guided tours to the architectural wealth of the historic city of Chania – 12th and 13th June
Chania is a city that dates back more than 5000 years, from the Minoan Kydonia, to the Arabic Al Hanim, to the Byzantine Chania, to the Venetian La Canea, to the Ottoman Chania and finally to the liberated Greek Orthodox Chania. The rich and long history of the region of Chania is fascinating and is reflected in its buildings.

The general public will be guided free of charge to the architectural wealth of this historic city.
More specifically, the 70 volunteers of the event will welcome and guide the visitors to 15 public and private buildings:

Monastery Estate Venetian Harbor Hotel
Centre of Mediterranean Architecture – The Great Arsenali
Chania Sailing Club – Neorio Moro
The Villa of Manoussos Koundouros
New Archaeological Museum of Chania
Halepa Hotel
Residence-Museum “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”
Change of Use of Tanneries in Tampakaria
Midwar Townhouse
Residence in Ag. Ioannis
House in Pervolia (Villa 7)
Residence with Glasshouse in Loutraki

How to join the tours:
1. Visit the spaces that interest you during their opening hours. Visitors are advised to arrive in time at the buildings they wish to visit, as after the end of the opening hours, the building closes.
3. Wait for your turn to follow the tour. Entrance by order of priority (based on the time of arrival at each space, during the opening hours) and at set intervals.
No reservations are made.
Entrance is free for all.
