International Women’s Day: interactive campaign focusing on Femicide – Platanias 8th March

The Municipality of Platanias with the Municipal Gender Equality Committee (D.EP.IS.) participates in the action of the STRONG ME movement, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2022.

“The Municipality of Platanias participates in the symbolic action of the Strong Me movement, wanting to send a strong message to all women and especially to those who experience gender-based violence, that they are not alone, they are not weak, they should not remain silent. We break the silence and unite our voices against every form of abuse of women, against every murder. ” (The Mayor of Platanias, Mr. Giannis Malandrakis).
The Strong Me movement sheds light, for the first time in Greece, on the phenomenon of gender-based violence, creating an interactive campaign aiming at the legal recognition of the term ‘Femicide’ and the change of the legal framework.
Somewhere from the “Umbrellas” of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and under the auspices of the Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE), 30 Municipalities from all over the country, including the Municipality of Platanias, join our voices, illuminating an equal number of ‘monuments’, as a tribute to the women who were murdered.
The lighting will be accompanied by music from Thessaloniki, with piano, violin and a group of children will send the message that the lost girls were not forgotten, showing us the way to “change” as a society. A one-minute message will be addressed by the Municipality of Platanias as well as the representatives of the other participating Municipalities.
The event, which will be coordinated by journalists Anastasia Karypidou and Anastasia Telianidou, will be accompanied by the song about gender-based violence, “WAR”, sung by the founder of Strong Me Aspasia Theofilou.

Ο Δήμος Πλατανιά με τη Δημοτική Επιτροπή Ισότητας (Δ.ΕΠ.ΙΣ) του Δήμου, συμμετέχει στη δράση του κινήματος Strong me, την Τρίτη 8 Μαρτίου, στις 18:30, στην Κεντρική Πλατεία Πλατανιά, με αφορμή την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα της Γυναίκας. Το κίνημα Strong me ρίχνει, για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα, φως στο φαινόμενο της έμφυλης βίας, δημιουργώντας μια διαδραστική καμπάνια κατά των Γυναικοκτονιών, με στόχο τη νομική αναγνώριση του όρου και την αλλαγή του νομικού πλαισίου.
Κάτω από τις “Ομπρέλες” του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης και υπό την αιγίδα της Κεντρικής Ένωσης Δήμων Ελλάδος (ΚΕΔΕ), 30 Δήμοι από όλη τη χώρα, ανάμεσά τους και ο Δήμος Πλατανιά, ενώνουμε τις φωνές μας, φωτίζοντας ισάριθμα ‘μνημεία’, ως φόρο τιμής στις γυναίκες που δολοφονήθηκαν. Η φωταγώγηση θα έχει μουσική συνοδεία από τη Θεσσαλονίκη, με πιάνο, βιολί και μια παρέα παιδιών θα στείλουν με τον πιο καθηλωτικό τρόπο το μήνυμα ότι τα κορίτσια που χάθηκαν δεν ξεχάστηκαν, δείχνοντάς μας τον δρόμο να “αλλάξουμε” ως κοινωνία. Θα ακουστούν, επίσης, μηνύματα από τις Ευρωβουλεύτριες Εύα Καϊλή και Έλενα Κουντουρά και τον Ευρωβουλευτή Στέλιο Κυμπουρόπουλο. Μήνυμα ενός λεπτού θα απευθύνει και ο Δήμος Πλατανιά όπως αντίστοιχα και οι εκπρόσωποι των υπόλοιπων συμμετεχόντων Δήμων.
Ο Δήμαρχος Πλατανιά κ. Γιάννης Μαλανδράκης, δήλωσε σχετικά με την παραπάνω εκδήλωση: “ο Δήμος Πλατανιά, στο πλαίσιο του εορτασμού της Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας της Γυναίκας, συμμετέχει στη συμβολική δράση του κινήματος Strong me, θέλοντας να στείλει ένα ισχυρό μήνυμα προς όλες τις γυναίκες και ιδιαίτερα σε όσες βιώνουν έμφυλη βία, ότι δεν είναι μόνες, δεν είναι αδύναμες, δεν πρέπει να μένουν σιωπηλές. Σπάμε τη σιωπή και ενώνουμε τις φωνές μας απέναντι σε κάθε μορφή κακοποίησης των γυναικών,απέναντι σε κάθε γυναικοκτονία. “
Η εκδήλωση, την οποία θα συντονίσουν οι δημοσιογράφοι Αναστασία Καρυπίδου
και Αναστασία Τελιανίδου, θα πλαισιωθεί από το τραγούδι για την έμφυλη βία, “ΠΟΛΕΜΟΣ”, που ερμηνεύει η ιδρύτρια του Strong me Ασπασία Θεοφίλου.
