Event in honor and memory of the 1821 Revolution in Crete and the Chalides from Theriso, ancestors of Mikis Theodorakis.

Theriso is a small Cretan village 16 km from Chania with a remarkable history, intrinsically interwoven with the freedom and independence of the Cretan people.

The ′′ Mikis Theodorakis Festival “, the institutional celebrations for Mikis, are also this year organized by the Association of Friends of Mikis Thedorakis, with the co-organisation of the Region of Crete – Regional Unit of Chania, the Municipality of Chania and KEPEDICH KAM.
Helpers in this year’s celebration: the local community of Galatas and the Chania Film Festival.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute.
