An event not to be missed – the Cretan World Music Festival this year in Chania: an evening with wonderful music, inspired by three world-renowned bands.

WHERE: San Salvatore Bastion, Pireos 73 (western end of Venetian Harbour, west of the Firka Fortress),
Chania.

Free entrance.

The Cretan World Music Festival presents Yoel Soto, aCuban musician, poet and composer, with his Latin Jazz band performing Cuban jazz music, Maria Manousaki  and her quartet performing New York jazz with Cretan influences and Percussion 4 One, a percussion ensemble performing rhythms from around the world featuring an incredible Armenian woodwind instrumentalist!

The association PRAXIS – Maria Manousaki together with the Municipality of Chania and the Region of Crete as co-organizers organize this International Music Festival of Crete, which has now become an annual institution and a recognized event since 2014.2 August Cretan WOrld Music Festival

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
