Concert: “The Vamos Ensemble” in Platanias, 26th July

The VAMOS Music Ensemble celebrates the 200th anniversary of the 1821 Revolution in their own way – with songs and music that touch moments of Greek History of this period.

WHEN: Monday, 26th July, 21.30
WHERE: at the Port of Platanias

The event is organised by the Municipality of Platanias and sponsored by the Porto Platanias-Hotel and Resorts.

Please arrive at the event site in time, as there will be a specific and limited number of seats because of the current health protocol and the measures against the spread of COVID-19.

The Vamos Ensemble is a  symphony orchestra composed of sixteen musicians residing in Crete. They first appeared seven years ago and have as a base the village of Vamos in Chania. Through their particular orchestrations, they create their own distinctive sound and perform music of the world, with the authenticity and spontaneity of the musical ensemble.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
