Hiking the Katholiko Gorge

A silent walk in the gorge Avlaki Katholiko, near the Gouvernetou Monastery.
A wonderful route, about an hour, to a place of intense worship, as we pass through the remains of monasteries, caves where many ascetics found refuge and a wild landscape with aromas from the 11th century.

The walk will end at the sea in an amazing fjord and ancient quarry where its stones were used by the Venetians for the construction of the old Port of Chania

Throughout the journey we will remain in silence in order to connect with the sounds, smells and messages of the place as well as to listen to our inner selves.

What to have with you on the trip
1. Mountaineering or trail running shoes
2. Hiking poles (optional)
3. Clothes suitable for the season
4. Small mountaineering backpack for hiking
5. 1.0 lt water
6. Snacks such as sandwiches, chocolates, cereal bars, pastries, nuts, cookies, fruits, dried fruits, etc.
7. Napkins, baby wipes
