PRESS RELEASE from the Municipality of Kissamos, Thursday 27th February  20.57:
All planned Carnival Events of the Municipality of Kissamos are cancelled

Following the Joint Ministerial Decision (protocol No. 13776 / 27-02-2020) of the Ministries of Health, Citizen Protection and Home Affairs, all Carnival events in the country are cancelled due to the immediate public health threat by the Corona Virus.
According to this official decision, the Mayor of Kissamos Mr. Georgios Mylonakis  and the President of the Benefit Company Mr. A. Xirouhakis  inform you that unfortunately all the planned Carnival Events of the Municipality of Kissamos from 29th February to 3rd March are cancelled.

THE MAYOR’S STATEMENT:

“We are waiting and managing the issue calmly, which in any case requires responsibility.
The Municipality of Kissamos acts in coordination with the State, the Ministry and the relevant health authorities.
Carnival events are vital to the local economy and cultural activity, but our responsibility is to wait for directions and act accordingly with public health in mind”.
