The series of broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera New York – “The Met: Live in HD” – starts on 12th October with Franco Zeffirelli’s epic production Turandot (1987)
The season 2019/20 features ten live streams from the MET, including five brand new productions and five thrilling revivals.

Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, conducts Franco Zeffirelli’s 1987 production of Turandot. Christine Goerke plays the title role of the icy Chinese princess Turandot, who has renounced all men. Roberto Aronica sings Calàf, the suitor who risks his head for her hand and sings the famed aria “Nessun dorma”. Eleonora Buratto is the slave girl Liù, and James Morris is Calàf’s long-lost father, Timur.
