Musical event “Morning feeling in F-Major” – Chania 20th October

A dramatized presentation of Odysseus Elytis’ poem “Chant and mourning for the lost lieutenant in Albania”, with music of  Chopin, Mozart, Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hatzidakis.
The event will take place on Sunday, 20th October at 19:00 at the Cultural Center of Chania, A. Papandreou 70.

Odysseus Elytis,  Nobel Prize-winning Greek poet is celebrated for his lyrical and passionate evocations of his country’s history, myths and rugged landscape. Elytis joined the resistance movement and served as a second lieutenant in Albania in 1940-41.

This music event is organized by the Chania Bar Association and the Chania Regional Unity as part of the OXI  Day celebration on 28th October.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And six years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
