3rd Chaniartoon International Comic & Animation Festival – Chania 13th – 22nd September

The 3rd Chaniartoon – International Comic & Animation Festival features animation film screenings, workshops and presentations with many participating artists!

Free entry.

More than 60 different countries take part in the animation section and  53 artists from all over Greece participate in the exhibition.
This year, for the first time, 20 of the artists will be in Chania on the last 3 days of the festival (September 20-22), exhibiting their work and discussing with the public.
What is more, Chaniartoon will feature for the first time a reality application, a local and national innovation!
Through the official application of the festival, which will be released in early September, visitors to the exhibition will be able to interact with it in a special way. This is an application that allows visitors, through their mobile phones,  to watch  the more than 50 exhibiting artists present themselves, as well as a variety of 3D graphics.

Programme:
13th September :
Opening of the Festival, with a special event at the open-air cinema KIPOS, featuring award-winning films, live storytelling with Lili Lambreli, video animation with Lefteris Eleftheriou.

14th and 15th September:
Screenings of animation films from around the world at the open-air cinema KIPOS.

16th – 22nd September:
The events continue  at the Centre of Mediterranean Architecture (CAM).

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
