Hiking tour – Spilia 9th June

The Municipality of Platanias invites you to the 14th hiking tour within the framework of  ‘Sports for Everyone’. Everyone is welcome!

WHEN: Sunday 9th June 17.15
9 June WalkWHERE: Square of Spilia, village centre

Departure time for this  6 km circular route: 17.30.
The route leads us up to the ridge, passing the cave of Agios Ioannis, Marathokefala, with fantastic views of the bay of Chania, and downhill to Spilia again. Along the route there are Byzantine chapels, geological phenomena and the Byzantine Museum of the local church.
After the walk the villagers will be waiting with cold tsikoudia.

Co-organizers: local Council, Women’s Association and Cultural Association,
And, as always, members of the Red Cross Section of Kissamos will accompany the walk.

Please wear appropriate clothes and shoes and don’t forget to take some  water with you!

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
