Theatre: comedy-thriller “Without Guilt” – Chania 11th – 14th and 16th – 17th January

The Municipal Regional Theatre of Crete presents the project “Without Guilt”, a comedy of anguish, an adaptation of the work “Accomplice” by

Rupert Holmes (born David Goldstein on February 24, 1947), a British-American composer, musician, songwriter, dramatist and author, wrote the comedy-thriller Accomplice in 1990 and won  the Mystery Writers of America’s coveted “Edgar Award” ( it is the “Oscar” of crime and suspense.  Accomplice has thrilled audiences on the Broadway, across the United States and around the word.

“The play is  a sinister mystery, with elements of thriller and black comedy  reminding us of the film noir.”
A delusive , subversive story, full of intrigue, betrayal and murder, aiming to trap the audience in a continuous game of intruders, SIN and guilt.”

The story of the project begins in a bustling British country home. We watch the preparation of a murder as a woman and her lover intend to murder her restless husband. The husband is murdered, but he soon reappears on stage to complete his murderous plans. His partner is his wife’s lover . Who would not think that all this is a well thought-out plan of revenge  against him, by the murdered wife  Is it none of these things  but is it all part of a rehearsal? Do you watch for a play or a murder?
In this comedy, unlike most black comedies, all murder projects are successfully completed.
But none of them gives the solution the protagonists seek. Except for the latter. What will this be?
