Musical theatre: “Erotokritos” – Chania 19th August

The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Sitia and the theatrical group of the Association of Musicians of Sitia present Vitsentzos Kornaros’ poetic work Erotokritos in form of a musical theatre, combining songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The show features about fifty musicians, actors, singers and dancers.

Vitsentzos Kornaros. considered to be the greatest of all the Cretan poets, was born near Sitia in 1553. He wrote the romantic epic poem Erotokritos, the themes revolving around love, friendship, courage, and patriotism.
