This performance uses the principles of the Fly Theater – space, rhythm, body and theatrical play – in order to bring to life the exciting life, painful though,
of Freida Kahlo in a unique and original way. The purpose of the show is to explore the painter’s history, the physical limitations and the pain that prompted her to create a world dominated by passion for life.
Katerina Damvoglou enters the painting of the Mexican painter, presenting on stage the experiences and a wealth of emotions of the explosive and incompatible Frida.
Robin Beer creates the live sound and the images through live video production, building the world around her. Through the continuous screenings and the live , handmade video, the Fly Theater “draws” the personality of Frida Kalo on stage – through her emblematic pictures and paintings that were autobiographical. It is a performance full of color, emotion and truth.
