The performance “Frida ki Àllo” in a text by Katerina Damvoglou uses the principles of the Fly Theater  – space, rhythm, body and theatrical play – in order to bring to life the  life of Freida Kahlo in a unique and original way. The purpose of the show is to explore the painter’s history, the physical limitations and the pain that prompted her to create a world dominated by passion for life.

Katerina Damvoglou enters the painting of the Mexican painter, presenting on stage the experiences and a wealth of emotions of the explosive and incompatible Frida. Robin Beer creates live sound and images through live video production, building the world around her. Through the continuous screenings and the live handmade video, the Fly Theater “draws” the personality of Frida Kahlo on stage,  through her emblematic pictures and paintings that were autobiographical. It is a performance full of color, emotion and truth.

who became famous through the movie ‘Frida Kahlo’ with Selma Hayek.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And seven years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
