The Swedish playwright, editor of a comic series and composer Joacim Perinea about his play “The Good Family”: ” I thought for therapeutic reasons to write a project about how to be a teenager in a dysfunctional family.” But it should not be a family drama! ” I thought of a project without conflict! I made lists with all the positive expressions I could find and I made strict rules about what the heroes could say and could not say.”

Else, Eve, Jane and Lena are a good family. Everything is dreamlike – a beautiful home, a wonderful job, two amazing parents, two adorable children. Can they all stay that way? Reading the good family takes you into some kind of excitement, frustration and nervous laughter. Not so much because you refuse to believe that a family can be so happy and healthy, but because you know that a child would find nothing paradoxical about all this. The compulsion of perpetual euphoria or something that we will never achieve?
