Couleur Locale  experiments with Mediterranean music by focusing on the traditional sound of Crete, creating new elements and  adding elements of world,
rock and jazz style.

The music of Couleur Locale is based on the compositions of Giorgos Manolakis, famous for his  improvisation on  the lute (acoustic / electric),
as well as the powerful rhythm of Nikola Christodoulos (drums) and Yannis Kapetanakis (double bass) .

Giorgos Manolakis is one of the most important lute players of Crete,  a constant partner of Ross Daly, Vasilis Stavrakakis and other important artists.
