In Chile, in the Atacama desert, at three thousand feet altitude, astronomers from all over the world gather to observe the stars. The desert sky is so transparent that it allows them to see the boundaries of the universe.

Nearby, a group of women sift through the sand searching for body parts of loved ones, dumped unceremoniously by Pinochet’s regime.
